NEW YORK — Actor John Costelloe, best known for his turn on HBO's "The Sopranos," has died from an apparent suicide, The Associated Press reports.
The 47-year-old Costelloe was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot at his Brooklyn residence on Dec. 18, AP says. His relatives had notified authorities after failing to reach him.
Costelloe starred as short-order cook Jim "Johnny Cakes" Witowski on the hit HBO series in 2006. He played the gay lover of mobster Vito Spatafore, a character portrayed by Joseph Gannascoli.
