Up-and-coming actress Lucy Hale was born June 14, 1989. A native of Memphis, Tenn., Hale realized a passion for music at an early age, and at nine years old began voice lessons in earnest. In addition to her home schooling, she enrolled in Independent Education acting classes and began to combine her talents for both singing and acting.
Ultimately, Hale appeared on "American Juniors," finishing in the Top 5, and became a member of the band which was formed at the show's conclusion. Her positive experience on the program inspired her to seriously pursue a career in entertainment.
Hale's television credits include an impressive list of popular series, including "How I Met Your Mother," "The O.C.," "Drake & Josh" and "American Family."
In 2007, Hale landed her breakout role when she was cast as Becca Sommers, the sister of Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan), on the NBC TV series "Bionic Woman." She also landed her first movie role, starring in 2008's "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2," the sequel to the hit motion picture comedy "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." The film's shooting locations took the 5-foot-2 Hale to the island of Santorini, New York and Connecticut.
