Name: Rachael Taylor
Profession: Actress
Birth Date: July 11, 1984
Height: 5' 8 ½"
Rachael Taylor was born on July 11, 1984 and grew up in Launceston, Tasmania. She attended Riverside High School and was Deputy Head Prefect in 2000. She modeled locally for agency Skye-Jilly International and competed successfully in the State finals of Miss Teen Tasmania and Miss Universe/Miss World.
After leaving Launceston College at the age of 18, Taylor moved to Sydney to further her acting career. Her name synonymous with gloss and glamour, the traffic-stopping Aussie import carried within her a natural on-camera presence. It therefore failed to surprise anyone when Taylor landed a consistent series of roles in Hollywood features.
In 2004, Taylor landed her first role, a small part in "The Mystery of Natalie Wood," a film by legendary director Peter Bogdanovich. She next appeared in "Dynasty: The Making of a Guilty Pleasure," "McLeod's Daughters," "Man-Thing" and "Hercules."
Then while she was studying politics and history at the University of Sydney, Taylor landed her first break on an Australian television show called "headLand." For her role as Sasha Forbes, Taylor earned a nomination for a Logie Award for Most Popular New Female Talent in 2006.
Taylor's climb up the Hollywood ranks soon led to a role in the Michael Bay blockbuster film, "Transformers." In the film, Taylor appears as Maggie Madsen — and she keeps her native accent to emphasize the global scope of the movie.
