HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — After seeing a photograph of her son shopping with his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens at what appeared to be a sex shop, Zac Efron's mom did what any responsible parent would do — she sat him down for little chat.
"My mom is like, 'Zac, what did you buy in a sex shop?' " the 21-year-old actor tells Elle for its April issue. "I was like, 'Mom, calm down, it's not a sex shop.' "
But Efron says his mom, Starla, wasn't buying his story one bit.
"She wouldn't have any of it," the "High School Musical" star tells the mag. "She's like 'I knew you were being sexual!' But she understood. My stocking was full of condoms this Christmas. She buys me the economy box."
Efron also opened up about what transpired when he sat next to Leonardo DiCaprio at a recent Los Angeles Lakers game.
"We talked the whole game, and he was just everything I thought he would be: smart, levelheaded, charming, hilarious," he says of the "Titanic" star. "You know, the older-brother vibe. That sounds so cheesy."
