HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "High School Musical" star Zac Efron has a new title to go along with teenage heartthrob.
The 21-year-old actor has been named breakthrough performer of the year by ShoWest, according to Variety.
Efron joins previously announced 2009 ShoWest honorees that include Sienna Miler, Chris Pine and Bradley Cooper.
ShoWest is the most prestigious and longest running convention and trade show for the cinema exhibition and distribution community. This year's convention begins March 30 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Efron next stars alongside Matthew Perry in "17 Again." The film arrives in theaters on April 17.
