HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Zac Efron proved to be another teen idol who was a hit at the box office.
The 21-year-old actor's comedy, "17 Again," debuted with ticket sales of $24.1 million to lead the weekend box office, according to studio estimates released Sunday.
"State of Play," a political thriller starring Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck, opened with sales of $14.1 million to finish second.
Efron's win followed fellow teen star Miley Cyrus taking the top spot last weekend with the release of "Hannah Montana: The Movie."
