ASM Interview: Jeremy Jackson, Actor and Singer

By Heather Broeker on August 31, 2007

Jeremy Jackson, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, Baywatch, MySpace, actor, interviewsJeremy Jackson shot to fame when he took on the role of David Hasslehoff's son, Hobie Buchannon, on the popular television show "Baywatch." Thanks to the hit series, Jackson quickly became a teen idol, which he later turned into a music career by recording an album that featured two Top-10 singles. His music led to a tour across Europe and Jackson was later invited into the World Music Hall of Fame. In addition, Jackson was inducted into the Young Hollywood Hall of Fame in 1996.

But like many child stars, Jackson's early years did not pass without trouble. During his time on "Baywatch," Jackson was a heavy drug user and he partly attributes that to his decision to leave the show. Jackson eventually entered rehab in order to beat his addiction.

His recent comeback into the spotlight has helped bring immediate attention to the current dangers facing today's young Hollywood stars. The outspoken Jackson has been a guest on such shows as "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" on CNBC to talk about methamphetamines in Hollywood.

In addition, Jackson was featured in Vanity Fair's exclusive Hollywood Issue in March 2006. He has been referred to as "Mr. MySpace" and was a guest on The Tyra Banks Show for being "the most notorious cyber stud on"

If MySpace offered superlatives, the former child star would surely be voted "Most Popular" or what's more believable by the masses — "Most Likely To Get Laid." And while most of us in our twenties can't imagine a yearbook with such a superlative, we somehow relate to the sexual popularity contest that is MySpace. I spoke with Jeremy about all the crazy things going on his life after "Baywatch," but first I had to address this MySpace phenomenon that he seams to be leading.

ASM: So let's just get this one out of the way. Are you a MySpace whore or what?

Jackson: See the thing is, if I have sex with one girl, for every one girl it might as well have been a thousand.

ASM: So what you're saying is that MySpace is some sort of sexual multiplying factor?

Jackson: Well it's not like I'm actually sleeping with a thousand; it's just that that one girl goes out and tells her friends and then the next thing I know, I have girls coming up to me saying I once dated one of their girlfriends. I've only actually dated a few people, so the story is getting mixed up somewhere along the line.

ASM: What do you think it says about today's young females if they feel a need to validate themselves through the men they've slept with?

Jackson: A lot of people hook up for the wrong reasons — power, revenge, and so forth — it's not proper. But if you find someone who is super attractive to you or intrigues you, go for it. Hooking up for the right reasons doesn't make you a slut, it makes you an adult. Only God can judge — let's put it that way.
