HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Elizabeth Hasselbeck, co-host of "The View," gave birth Friday to a 7-pound, 15-ounce boy at an Arizona hospital, ABC said. It is the second child for Hasselbeck and her husband, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Tim Hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck phoned in to her "The View" co-stars on Monday morning to reveal the name of her newborn son — Taylor Thomas Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck, known as the resident Republican on the popular ABC show, revealed to co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepard that she was in labor for what seemed like "four or five thousand hours."
The 30-year-old "View" cohost and her 29-year-old husband met as students at Boston College and have been married for five years. Their first child, daughter Grace Elisabeth, turned two in April.
"Elisabeth and I are happy to announce the arrival of our son, and we're thrilled he arrived safely. Both mom and son are happy and healthy," Tim Hasselbeck said in a statement released by the network. "Grace is so excited to be a big sister."
Elizabeth Hasselbeck, 30, began a 2 1/2-month maternity leave from "The View" on Oct. 23. She also was a contestant on the television reality show "Survivor."
