HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Billy Ray Cyrus dropped by ABC's "The View" on Friday, where he confirmed that he no longer plans to end his 17-year marriage to wife Tish.
"I've dropped the divorce," said the 49-year-old star. "I want to put my family back together ... Things are the best they've ever been."
Billy Ray said he regretted his recent GQ interview in which he blamed the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" show for breaking up his family.
"Doing an interview when you're mad and scared is a whole lot like going to the grocery store when you're hungry," he said.
He added, "I don't think 'Hannah Montana' ruined my family, but to set the record straight, I love 'Hannah Montana.' I love Disney. That didn't tear my family apart. Now fame, fame is a different animal, you've got to be careful with that thing."
The country singer, who performed his new song "Runway Lights," also discussed his improved relationship with daughter Miley Cyrus.
"I feel like I kind of got my Miley back in a way," said Billy Ray. "I feel like we are the daddy and the daughter that we were before 'Hannah Montana' happened. ... We've laughed a lot in the last couple days."
