HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Dane Cook's half brother and sister-in-law will pay a hefty price for stealing millions from the comedian.
Darryl and Erika McCauley have been ordered to pay Cook $12 million after pleading guilty in the embezzlement case, the Boston Globe reports.
In October, Darryl McCauley was sentenced to five to six years in prison on charges of larceny, forgery and embezzlement. His wife was sentenced to 2½ to three years in prison on charges including two counts of larceny.
Prosecutors said Darryl McCauley swiped millions while working as Cook's business manager, a role that earned him $12,500 per month from March 2004 until the day he was arrested in December 2008.
Cook previously discussed the embezzlement case when he appeared on Larry King Live in April 2009.
"It's a terrible betrayal," he told King. "But hopefully justice will be served and I can move on with my life."
