HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are on cloud nine after tying the knot over weekend.
DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, who have been dating since December 2004, married Saturday evening at their Beverly Hills home.
"What can I say? I'm the luckiest girl in the world," DeGeneres tells People magazine. "She's officially off the market. No one else gets her. And now she'll cook and clean for me."
DeGeneres announced the longtime couple's plans to marry on her talk show in May. The news came on the heels of a state high court ruling which struck down California's laws against gay marriage. California's Supreme Court ruled that people have a fundamental "right to marry" the partner of their choosing, thus making the previous ban on gay marriage unconstitutional.
The couple's wedding day was a small, intimate affair before approximately 20 guests. While both wearing Zac Posen, they exchanged rings by Neil Lane, in addition to sharing their own handwritten vows.
"The love we felt from the people surrounding us, and the love we have for each other, made this the most beautiful and emotional day," de Rossi tells the magazine. "And one that we'll never forget."
