HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — T.R. Knight and his boyfriend Mark Cornelsen applauded California's recent ruling to allow same-sex marriages on the day many couples headed to the altar for the first time.
"It's a wonderful day!" the 35-year-old Knight told Access Hollywood at Tuesday night's premiere of "Get Smart" in Westwood, Calif. "It's just, it's fair. And anytime that happens and anytime equality is present, it's a marvelous thing, and it's about time."
"[Much of] our country's history is full of times of just horrible inequality. And anytime they right it, it's correct," he added.
As for whether we can expect to see the "Grey's Anatomy" star walking down the aisle himself some day, Knight says only time will tell.
"We've only been dating for about six months, so it's a little soon for that," he told the entertainment news program.
While it's too soon for their own wedding bells, Knight and Cornelsen do have a future invite that they're looking forward to.
"We're going to Ellen [DeGeneres'] and [Portia de Rossi's] wedding. I'm really excited about it," Knight said. "We got a little Save the Date card. They're such wonderful people! I'm honored we got invited."
