HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Looks like there might be one less invite for the upcoming Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz wedding.
According to two people close to Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo, the couple has definitely ended their relationship.
"The glam couple is splitsville, kaput, over, put a fork in it," the sources tell The Dallas Morning News.
Simpson, 27, and Romo, 28, whose romance first started making tabloid headlines last November, have been the subject of breakup rumors for the last week. However, Simpson's rep told E! Online yesterday that the couple was still together.
"I spoke to Jess yesterday and the day before. They are still together," the singer's rep said.
However, according to latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands Friday, Simpson was hurt when her ex John Mayer went public with his new love Jennifer Aniston. She was drinking heavily on May 10 at L.A. eatery Mexicali Cocina Cantina, where she was joined by best pal CaCee Cobb and her boyfriend, actor Donald Faison.
The night ended with Cobb reportedly getting sick in the restaurant and Simpson being forced to call her mom for a ride home.
Meanwhile, the tabloid reports that Romo was partying the same night away in Chicago and telling friends he's newly single.
Romo was also seen getting cozy last weekend with a mystery blonde at the Chicago club Manor. Photos of that adventure surfaced yesterday on PerezHilton.com
When approached yesterday by Dallas Morning News reporters at Cowboys Golf Club in Texas, Romo replied, "I'm not talking about Jessica."
As for Simpson, who was previously married to Nick Lachey, she told TV's Extra earlier this week that she dreams of walking down the aisle again someday.
"I want to be married and have kids. I have a future ahead," she said.
