Melissa Etheridge, Tammy Etheridge, split, breakup, separate, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2010HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Melissa and Tammy Etheridge have decided to go their separate ways after nine years together.

"Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated," Melissa's rep told People.

"We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period," added the former couple in a joint statement.

The 48-year-old singer and the 35-year-old L Word actress (formerly Tammy Lynn Michaels) exchanged vows in Malibu in September 2003.

They have two children together - son Miller and daughter Johnnie Rose.

The "Fearless Love" singer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, also has two children with her former partner, Julie Cypher.
