HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Matthew Morrison has posed shirtless for Details magazine in a cover story that reveals his once wild ways.
"I definitely hooked up with a lot of girls when I was a young guy on Broadway," the 32-year-old Glee star tells the mag for its December/January issue. "It was exciting. Very joyous and free."
Morrison says he took advantage of being a "straight guy" surrounded by "beautiful dancers," but it wasn't always that way. In fact, he didn't lose his virginity until he was 21, even spending his brief college days at NYU in a Bible-study group.
To this day, Morrison says he struggles with being perceived as a sex object.
"I'm not comfortable with the idea of my sex appeal, but I know in my job I have to use it," he says. "I wish I could say I got to this point in my career based on my talent, but I don't think that's true."
When the topic turns to his dating life, Morrison reveals that "it's been a while" since he had a girlfriend because his career takes center stage right now.
"Meeting people, you wonder, 'What does this person see in me?' " he says. "I'm not a good friend right now. I'm not a good boyfriend. It's not that I'm selfish. I'm just focused."
