HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — LL Cool J just got knocked out.
The 42-year-old star, whose real name is James Todd Smith, has been dropped from Sarah Palin's upcoming Fox News Channel special, Real American Stories, after complaining about the network's plug promoting his appearance.
"Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else and are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin's show. WOW," wrote LL Cool J late Tuesday on Twitter.
Fox News responded by saying the "Mamma Said Knock You Out" singer's segment will not air when the program debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. Eastern.
"Real American Stories features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith's interview fits that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career," the network said in a statement.
The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate joined Fox News Channel as a regular contributor in January.
