HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl and her husband, singer Josh Kelley, are starting their family.
The couple, who married December 2007, will adopt a baby girl from Korea this week, Heigl's rep confirmed Wednesday to RadarOnline.
The baby is approximately 10 months old, Radar said.
The 30-year-old Heigl sat down with Ellen DeGeneres this week to discuss the adoption.
"She was actually born the day before me in November, which I thought was really serendipitous and just kind of like a sign," she said in an interview scheduled to air on Friday's "Ellen DeGeneres Show." "I realized just recently that I basically forfeited my birthday for the rest of my life."
Heigl also spoke about her daughter's name.
"Her name is Naleigh," she said. "Well, I am naming her after my mother and sister Nancy, Leigh. So we call her Naleigh."
Heigl's own sister Meg is adopted and the actress previously discussed her plans to adopt during an interview with USA Today.
"I'm done with the whole idea of having my own children," she said. "[It] doesn't seem like any fun. I don't think it's necessary to go through all of that."
Heigl is currently taking a leave of absence from "Grey's" to film her new movie "Life As We Know It."
