HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Joe Simpson has long been considered an extremely hands-on manager when it comes to overseeing the careers of his two daughters, but sources say his meddling is ruining Jessica's relationship with on-again, off-again boyfriend Tony Romo.
A source tells Us Weekly that father Joe recently asked the 28-year-old Romo to drop his agent so that he could handle his NFL career.
He then reportedly offered to broker a deal to sell the wedding photos should the Dallas Cowboys star and Jessica get married, much like he did for Ashlee's recent marriage to Pete Wentz.
The actions reportedly pushed Romo so far to the edge that he asked the 27-year-old Jessica to tell her dad to back off.
When reached by Us Weekly, Joe Simpson denied the allegations, saying, "It's unfair to criticize me for what every manager does for his or her clients. And in this business, where people can quickly turn on you, who better than a parent to be working for his children?"
