Jay Leno's Final 'Tonight Show' Will Be May 29

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jay Leno will say goodnight to his NBC "Tonight Show" audience for the last time on May 29, 2009, the network announced Monday.

Leno's successor will be the previously announced Conan O'Brien, who will shift over to the "Tonight Show" desk on Monday, June 1.

Ultimatum Forced Carson Daly to Ignore Writers' Strike

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Carson Daly said that he was given an ultimatum, which is why he decided to write his own material and continue on with "Last Call With Carson Daly."

"An ultimatum was put in front of me [by NBC execs]," explained Daly. "It was, 'Put a new show on December 3 or 75 people are fired. What's your answer? ' "
