HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi tied the knot Saturday evening at their Beverly Hills home.
The couple exchanged handwritten vows in a small, intimate wedding in front of approximately 20 guests. They were both decked out in Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane.
"They were hugging and kissing, and looked ecstatic," one onlooker told Us Weekly.
DeGeneres announced the longtime couple's plans to marry on her talk show in May. The news came on the heels of a state high court ruling which struck down California's laws against gay marriage. California's Supreme Court ruled that people have a fundamental "right to marry" the partner of their choosing, thus making the previous ban on gay marriage unconstitutional.
DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, have been dating since December 2004. Prior to their romance beginning, DeGeneres had a high-profile relationship with actress Anne Heche.
"I never would have thought my life would have turned out this way," DeGeneres previously told Allure magazine, admitting she and de Rossi hoped to be "together the rest of our lives."
"To have money. Or to have a gorgeous girlfriend. I just feel so lucky with everything in my life right now," she added.
