Shortly after her arrival in the Big Apple at the age of 19, Reid did her first shoot with top New York fashion photographer, Roberto Ligresti. The pictures came out looking exactly like Paris Hilton, which wasn't exactly a good thing at the time.
"I was having a hard time with my modeling in New York, because they said that I resembled Paris too much," explains Reid. "I started doing look-alike work because it was working for me and I could travel the country making awesome money and meeting awesome people. It became more exciting."
Reid started working for Screaming Queens Entertainment, a company that books look-alikes like Cher and Michael Jackson for corporate events and parties, with prices ranging into the thousands per appearance.
Even when she isn't working, Reid admits that she receives her fair share of perks. She's regularly upgraded on airplanes, she's comped at five-star restaurants, and even her friends get to enjoy bottle service whenever they venture into the clubs of New York City.
"It's just afforded me so many great opportunities," says Reid. "I feel like it's definitely been an awesome opportunity for me, because I know models who have been working for a long time and they haven't received the same amount of publicity or recognition that I have."
On the flip side, the publicity surrounding Reid has often bordered on cruel. She is frequently criticized for taking advantage of someone else's fame for her own well-being, and the media has been quick to criticize her for not exactly denying that she's not really Paris Hilton in public.
"I don't consider myself to be doing anything wrong," Reid says. "I state all the time that I never claim to be her. Most people would be doing the same thing."
