LOS ANGELES – Mel B gets up every "three hours" with her new baby.
The former Spice Girl gave birth to daughter Madison Brown Belafonte earlier this month and although the tot is relatively calm and quiet Mel and her husband Stephen Belafonte are getting used to the midnight feeds.
She told Life & Style magazine: "I thought she would come out manic because we're so hyper. But she's calm. I'm up every three hours at night. You think you're going to sleep when they sleep, but you don't. I just end up staring at her."
Mel - who already has two daughters, Phoenix, 12, and Angel, 4, from previous relationships - also admits she was desperate to pop Madison out because it felt as though she had been pregnant for an eternity.
She explained: "I had been pregnant for so long. I was ready to meet my baby. It was like, 'Finally, she's arrived!' "
Earlier in the week, the 36-year-old singer-and-TV star revealed she laughed throughout her labor because Phoenix and Stephen kept making jokes about the baby.
She said: "I was laughing the whole time. They kept winding each other up and daring each other to look at the head. I was laughing so much I didn't really push - five big chuckles and she was out. I thought Phoenix would be grossed out but she became the doctor's little helper."
